All has been quiet on the blog front. I don’t feel guilty about that… I’m in this for me, not to gain recognition or make money. And thank god this isn’t about money, or else I’d be broke.
Honestly, I ran the WDW Marathon on January 7th, and I just haven’t felt like writing about it. The post-race blues took over pretty quickly, even though I was relieved that my last marathon (ever) was over and done with, and was thankful that it was such a great experience. Then I took five weeks off to recover from two marathons in three months (and the gigantically long training cycle for both), I’ve been feeling blah at the gym with cross training… plus, just feeling blah in general.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD… how appropriate) is a real thing. Despite my best efforts, it’s really kicking my (well-toned and strong AF) ass this year. This is the first time in 23 years of living in New Hampshire that I’ve honestly felt like I can’t do another winter. It’s too dark, too cold, too grey, too snowy, too frozen, too dirty. I think there’s more sand on the roads in NH than there is at Hampton Beach. Gross. Life feels very much like the doldrums from The Phantom Tollbooth.
“Well, if you can’t laugh or think, what can you do?” asked Milo. “Anything as long as it’s nothing, and everything as long as it isn’t anything,” explained another.
Anywho, a bunch of interesting things HAVE happened since the new year. I’ll be blogging about them, eventually. Here’s an idea of what’s coming up:
- WDW Marathon (obvi)
- Buti yoga glow party
- SRTT Olympics
- Namaste at the MFA
- Schwinn® Indoor Cycling MPOWER™ with WATTS instructor training
- Snowflake Shuffle
Also, Happy International Women’s Day! Here are a couple good snippets I dug up this morning.
- Who You Should Really Celebrate on International Women’s Day
- Iconic Images of Women Protesters
- Boston Marathon’s 1st Female Entrant Recalls Historic Run
Wishing you all a lovely snow day on this white and grey March day!
